If you want, I'll send you a copy of Dr. Johnson's book. It's about a lot more than losing weight, really. The weight loss is just a very happy side effect. The whole deal is to work out how many calories you're eating over a 7 or 8 day period and averaging it out to see what your daily count looks like. You just want to make certain that you're getting enough on your high days so you're body doesn't end up in starvation mode. I would think for you it would be at least 2000 calories if not more. I'm sure you know that's best done through whole grains, fruits and veggies, low fat protein and nuts. It sounds so easy, doesn't it? If only it really were.Donianoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1494170969705291752.post-91651937714252287922009-07-28T19:12:37.520-05:002009-07-28T19:12:37.520-05:00Thanks for the eye candy! I had to smile reading your post because I will also be 40 in April.

I previously tried the up day down day diet you mention. I worked great for weight loss but my bg couldn't handle it. I read a lot of great results about it on a low carb forum though :)LuckyChellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10704366437649485944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1494170969705291752.post-85021727301126443622009-07-25T11:23:16.086-05:002009-07-25T11:23:16.086-05:00Hi there...

I normally don't enjoy reading blogs, although yours has been an exception and I wouldn't have started my own blog if it weren't for you. It may be hard for you to believe (I'll leave out the details), but I can relate to many of the things you write about... Anyway, I was just really moved by your writing and I decided to let you know how much of an inspiration you've been to me. Your writing is so... real, honest.

P.J.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1494170969705291752.post-28503227555360446112009-07-24T14:26:41.865-05:002009-07-24T14:26:41.865-05:00I want you to read this note with the love it was ...I want you to read this note with the love it was intended:

This is me, smacking the idea of that diet RIGHT OUTTA YOUR HEAD!!

Really? Really? You think that might be a sustainable program for you? Does it make sense in any logical way from what you KNOW to be true about getting to and maintaining a healthy lifestyle??

It's a journey, not a race. Stop looking for the "quick fix". You will not find it! Keep making smarter choices. Keep adding little tiddly bits of excercise. KEEP CARING.

Again, I say, please read this with the love that is intended.

And have you checked out NutriMirror yet? It's free. And it helps keep you accountable, because it's there in black and white (or green and red, in this case).♥ Dee ♥https://www.blogger.com/profile/01560097589196622838noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1494170969705291752.post-61609540521880661282009-07-24T10:51:04.128-05:002009-07-24T10:51:04.128-05:00Yummy pic...thanks (:
You have some awesome ideas...Yummy pic...thanks (:

You have some awesome ideas! I love the mini squats. And not having your debit card around-very smart. My first job was at Dairy Queen *hello 40 pounds* Lord that stuff is good!

I have come to love frozen dinners and sandwiches. We are trying to go 6 (!!!!) months w/o eating out...mostly b/c our food budget every month could fund a small African nation. Frozen dinners and quick 'n easy meals really fill in the gap when I'm too tired to cook.

Good luck with those work weeks-bless your heart! And I hope you have a great weekend (:Valerie Robersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16400026383513835586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1494170969705291752.post-34884955651991888572009-07-24T09:00:26.405-05:002009-07-24T09:00:26.405-05:00Ohhhh...I loves me some Josh especially topless. T...Ohhhh...I loves me some Josh especially topless. That made my day! I'm going to steal your squat idea and do them more often in smaller spurts.
